Nokia 5 and 3 go official, special edition Nokia 6 Arte Black joins them !

NOKIA is back! Nokia phones are going global after the initial trial run of the Nokia 6 in China. Also announced today are the Nokia 5 and Nokia 3, both finely-crafted phones running pure Android. All three will come out in Q2 in single and dual-SIM forms.

Nokia 6There’s nothing new here other than the price - the Nokia 6 will cost €230 and will launch in Q2 this year. In fact, all three phones will come out in Q2

But there was a surprise - the special edition Nokia 6 Arte Black .It’s distinguished by a piano black finish and extra memory. And when we say “extra memory” we mean as much as you would expect - 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, same as the Chinese model. The non-Arte models drop down to 3GB and 32GB, something to keep in mind when choosing a color. Anyway, the Nokia 6 Arte Black will retail for €300.

Nokia 5A bit lower on the size and price chart is the Nokia 5, which will launch at €190. Cast in a seamless aluminum unibody, this handset opts for a 5.2” HD screen. It promises great…

Nokia 3310 - Everything that you need to know about it !

HMD didn't skip on the opportunity to ride the nostalgia wave and reincarnate the ko legendary Nokia 3310 for a second go on the 2017 mobile scene. We are sure opinions will be polarized on the EUR 49 feature-phone, but that definitely fits into the whole idea.

Whether you find it unsightly, or enjoy its colorful and playful looks, the new 3310 will definitely get fans talking, even if not necessarily buying. As design goes, you will just have to judge for yourself. The new 3310 measure only 115.6 x 51 x 12.8 mm and is plastic all around. HMD claims it did the best it can to recreate the original 3310 rounded shape and silhouette. The rounded buttons on the retro keypad definitely hit home. However, the 2.4-inch QVGA display and the curved and polarized layer on top, do look a bit off. So do the buttons on the front.

Still, we have to say the four available color options: Warm Red (Glossy), Dark Blue (Matte), Yellow (Glossy), Grey (Matte), all seem to be so vibrant that they jump of…

LG G6 is official with FullVision 18:9 display, Snapdragon 821 chipset & more !!

The star of MWC 2017 has been announced - this is the LG G6. A 'Full-vision' display, water and dust protection plus some careful impact resistant design, cameras aplenty, tried and tested internals - the G6 may no longer be the flagship (the V-series will fly that banner from now on), but it sure sounds like flagships should be wary.

A lot of the G6's novelty stems from its display - a 5.7-inch IPS LCD panel that takes up most of the phone's front - it's why LG calls it Full Vision. The screen has an odd 18:9 aspect ratio (or, as math would have it - 2:1) and a resolution of 2,880x1,440px for a pixel density of 565ppi. Consumers want a larger display, yet aren't willing to give up single-hand use - the 2:1 ratio gives the best of both worlds.

The rounded corners aren't just for appearances either - such an LCD panel is more durable to drops. Speaking of durability, the back is made of Gorilla Glass 5, while it's GG3 on top of the display. The frame is ma…

Samsung unveils Exynos 9 - a 10nm chip to challenge the Snapdragon 835 - S8 Chipset ?

Samsung’s Exynos chipset with10nm territory with the latest Exynos 9 Series 8895. This chip promises up to 27% higher performance and 40% lower power consumption than a comparable 14nm chip. Now the question is will samsung use it on its upcoming flagship? Anyways , the chipset features an octa-core CPU starring second generation custom Samsung cores (four of them) as the big cluster while Cortex-A53 (again, four) reprises its role as the little cluster. The GPU is a Mali-G71, which has it’s eye on VR. It should have as much as 18 cores! Samsung is offering a Gigabit LTE modem - that’s 1Gpbs down and 150Mbps up. A built-in security module will work with fingerprint readers and iris scanners for secure payments. VR is a special focus of the Exynos 9 Series 8895. The GPU is built with VR in mind and promises to minimize latency for a more immersive experience. Non-interactive VR is helped by the video decoder, which can enhance 360° videos. Other goodies include support for 4K @ 120fps vide…

Complete spec sheet of Samsung Galaxy S8+ leaked !!

Today in Twitter the reliable tipster evleaks confirmed all key specifications for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8+ smartphone. The spec sheet reveals a 6.2-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED display (or 6.1-inch if you account for the rounded corners) and 4GB of RAM.
Other specs include 12MP Dual Pixel main camera, 8MP front shooter, and 64GB internal memory. The handset is 4G LTE ready, IP68 certified, and is secured by Knox. It also has an iris scanner, and supports Samsung Pay as well as wireless charging. The spec-sheet also mentions earphones tuned by AKG (Harman). The only key specs missing in this sheet is the chipset and the battery capacity.

NOKIA 8 listed by JD.com !!

Highly doubtful”, but JD.com (the biggest e-tailer in China and Nokia'a exclusive partner for the Nokia 6 launch) put up a listing for the Nokia 8. The 3D-render in particular seems more like a fan-made concept.

Still, the price of CNY 3,188 (around $460) seems about right as the Nokia 6 goes for CNY 2,300 or so. Currently, the JD page shows only the most basic specifications - an Android phone with a metal frame and LTE connectivity.

Some rumors point to a 5.7” Super AMOLED screen (QHD resolution), 24MP main camera with OIS and a 12MP selfie shooter, a high-end Snapdragon chipset and plenty of storage. Nokia will bring the 3 and 5 to the MWC, so it may be too early to have specifics on the flagship model, let alone put it in online stores.

Report claims refurbished Samsung Galaxy Note7 units will go on sale this June

Back in September, there were reports that Samsung might bring back the illfated Galaxy Note7 to the market in refurbished form. Now, a new report from South Korea is confirming that's going to be the case.

Refurbished Galaxy Note7 units to hit the market in June this year, and will be available in emerging markets such as India and Vietnam. These units will have "a new smaller battery and outer shell," report says, adding that "other key parts are also likely to be replaced."
Samsung announced the outcome of its Note7 investigation last month, blaming the phone's battery. In fact, the South Korean company said that original Galaxy Note7 units and replacement units had different battery defects. The Korean government also blamed batteries for the Note7 debacle.

Live images of Samsung Galaxy S8 leak !!! Must watch !

So there's no stopping when it comes to Samsung Galaxy S8  rumor mill before we see the real device on March 29. Until then we can rely solely on leaks like this one. A Chinese case manufacturer leaked live photos of the next Samsung flagship.
From the images its clear that the device will have dual-curved display. On the top of the front panel there are plenty of sensors and cameras and we even see an iris-scanner. On the bottom we see 3.5mm jack, USB-C and a speaker, possibly by Harman.

Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to come in two options, 5.7”/5.8” and a S8+ version with 6.2” screen. It will be powered by Snapdragon 835 and will have a fingerprint scanner on the back and a Bixby AI dedicated button.

Interesting part is the powered display with the contextual Grace UX menu. Looks like Galaxy S8 will not have the fully bezel-less experience Xiaomi Mi Mix gives but still the display-size ratio is impressive.

Hydrogen OS 3.0 for OnePlus 3 and 3T is out now !

One Plus just released version 3.0 of its Hydrogen Android OS. This new version is based on Android 7.0 Nougat and some users have been reporting slightly better battery life, compared to the latest Nougat Oxygen OS update.

If this is the first time you are hearing of Hydrogen OS or H2OS, it is more than understandable. It is the Android ROM One Plus develops specifically for its local market. It features some UI differences to better suite local tastes and also lacks Google Play Services and the rest of the Google Apps package, since those don't really work in China. The latter might very well be the reason why certain users have been reporting better battery endurance after flashing the eastern ROM.

If you are already running H2OS on your One Plus 3 or 3T, then the new version should be available as an OTA. The official One Plus forum has the download links and there is an English language option for the UI. If you decide to mix things up and go for it, we suggest checking out thi…

New LG G6 leak provides clearest look of LG's 2017 flagship !

The G5 didn't work out for LG, so it made some changes with the V20. Now we're just weeks away from the G6, being launched. The best images of the unannounced phone we've yet seen . It's not the prettiest phone, but maybe the pics don't do it justice. The images above is quite identical to what we've seen in past leaks. The G6 has a screen with rounded corners, but weirdly, the radius of the corners doesn't match the radius of the phone's corners. The bezels are slim, and there's the usual dual-camera array on the back of the phone. There's also a fingerprint sensor on the rear, which likely acts as a power button as well. The G6 is expected to pack a Snapdragon 821, 4GB of RAM, and a 5.7-inch display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The phone will likely be announced on February 26th at MWC and could launch in the US on April 7th. .

Samsung Galaxy S8 cases now reveal even more hardware details !

We are yet to see an official  Samsung Galaxy S8. But thanks to various accessory makers who already have us a pretty good idea of what the device will look like. The latest images come from the Australian brand UAG.

The company has listed several Galaxy S8 cases on its website, revealing that the device will have iris scanner. Along with it and the front camera we see some more sensors and light diods. The lack of physical button/fingerprint sensor on the front is also a confirmation. There is a button below the volume keys on the left side and another where the Power button usually is. We still don’t know which one will be the Bixby AI dedicated one.

The fingerprint sensor is on the right side of the main camera and unlike other manufacturers it actually has vertical rectangular form rather than circular or square shape. It might be difficult to reach the fingerprint sensor for the ones who have small hands . Samsung Galaxy S8 will have 5.8” dual-curved screen with 18:9, Snapdragon 835 …
